Rising Sun Book Company supplies bookstores, book distributors, libraries and institutions worldwide. We are a small-business, and proud of it.

For many years we’ve enjoyed providing personal attention to the special needs of our suppliers and loyal customers and have accounts set-up with over 250 publishers and book vendors in the USA. We can supply our clients with products from nearly all major USA book sources, which include publishers, their distribution hubs, and remainder dealers.

We handle only Bulk orders, for which we offer competitive discounts. Large-order fulfillment is accomplished in a warehouse in New Jersey, conveniently located near to major transportation hubs for overland and overseas transport. Additionally, some orders are fulfilled from our premises in New York.

For export orders, we can arrange to consolidate clients' purchases from various vendors, and setup shipment to the destination country via sea or air. All orders should be placed with us as billing will be made at the same or better discount than the client would obtain directly, in most instances.

We do not charge for freight forwarding, consolidation or for arranging consolidated shipment.

Founded in 1983, we’re a family owned operation led by Arun Shanbhag, who prides himself on his personal knowledge of every customer and their needs. Starting from humble beginnings in Stony Brook, New York we then occupied offices in Port Jefferson and Miller Place for 27 years, before returning to our roots in Stony Brook.
